PortalForge builds Signal, a code-level detection tool for Shopify API breaking changes. Shopify removes and replaces parts of its API on a published schedule, and code written against an older version keeps calling the removed parts with nothing in the repository marking them as gone. Signal scans a repository and reports the exact file, line, and Shopify surface affected, along with the relevant risk class and version context — without modifying any code or generating fixes.

We're in the evidence-gathering stage: Signal has been run against 114 unfamiliar public repositories, with 16 genuine removed-API calls confirmed through manual review across 12 of them. No maintainer has yet adopted or paid for Signal — we're currently doing founder-led customer discovery to understand how Shopify agencies and merchants handle API-version upgrades today.
