EVALUATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE TRAINING CENTER
Program commences with the evaluation of the training center. This involves the employment of Enterprise Development professionals to weigh up the existing infrastructure in the training center. This involves the assessment of the training environment, the work space and center capacity for the training, the existence of infrastructure, furniture, space and power supply. The infrastructure should be able to meet the necessary requirements to undertake the training program. In cases whereby the pre-listed modules provided in the training center comes inadequate. The required facilities would be introduced to meet desired standards. Here we employ the services of Enterprise Development consultants having expressed competency in Enterprise Development related pedagogy to be engaged and establish the training center prior to commencement of the training. This phase would take a maximum of five working days, thereafter an evaluation report would be provided that ascertain that the training center meets the adequate requirement to be utilized for the training.
ADMISSION AND ENUMERATION OF PARTICIPANTS
This training is targeted at women farmers and marketers of majorly highly perishable farm produce just after post harvest are recognized as the participants on the training program. The admission follows the identification of individual women who are registered into the program using the women training log book. A maximum of 100 women farmers and marketers of majorly highly perishable farm produce just after post harvest as participants are targeted to be enumerated for the training per chosen State. Participants are equipped with the necessary tools and resources for training. The targeted number of participants for the training would be registered for the program within a period of 1-4 working days. The registration exercise is concurrent with the first phase of the project activities.
THE TRAINING PROGRAM
This phase commences with the admission and registration of the participants. A registration form is issued to collect personal data for identification and enrollment. The training modules is structured and tailored according to the skills needed by the participants. Courses are designed to help learners gain new skills by several course modules designed according to the training needs. The program will employ the professional skills of Agripreneurship courses on food processing using drying/dehydration technology training facilitators, who are specialties on various Agripreneurship courses and food processing technology in-depth and related fields. Instructors on the training exercise would teach the participants on the basics by all the course modules introduced in the basic Agripreneurship courses and food processing technology training program, according to a predesigned training time table. The goals of the training program are estimated based on the program outcome, using after training methodology, strategies and curriculum.
The training timetable covers all the courses and components of the Agripreneurship courses and food processing technology training program. By this project it is expected that the training/learning center provided by the Administrative structure of the State the programme is being implemented in across Nigeria, which would be equipped with the required infrastructure and space than can accommodate a sub – cluster of 20 women farmers and marketers of majorly highly perishable farm produce just after post harvest as the beneficiaries for the training. In each state the programme is targeting 100 women as participants and beneficiaries.
TRAINING COURSES
By this program implementation,100 women farmers and marketers of majorly highly perishable farm produce just after post harvest will get equipped with the needed skill acquisition training on the following Agripreneurship courses and food processing technology, they will be trained not as an individual but as a group of 20 women for each sub - cluster and giving them the guidelines on how to be duly registered with NAFDAC/SON/NEPC under the corporate laws of Nigeria for their processed products after drying of dehydrating.
